According to a report, Barcelona might be ready to sell Eric Garcia in the next summer transfer window. Garcia was signed by Barcelona in June 2021 on a five-year contract. He also had a 400 million buyout clause in his contract.
Reason to Sell
The 22-year-old, Spanish centerback has been struggling to create a major impact in the last two seasons. He has been very inconsistent.
The Blaugrana having the likes of Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, and Jules Kounde also failed to give Garcia his regular game time. He also lost his spot in the Spanish National Team.
Another reason for the sale is Aymeric Laporte. Barcelona are eyeing the City defender Aymeric Laporte and are planning to land him as he is running out of contract in 2025. If Barca makes it possible, they won’t hesitate to cash in Garcia.
Conclusion
An exit from the club might be the best solution for both parties. It will help Garcia to regain back his form and he’ll also get regular game time. However, the prospective suitors for the player are still uncertain.
