Barcelona planning to bring Sterling on Loan from Man City

According to Sport, Barcelona is planning to sign Raheem Sterling on loan from Manchester City in the January transfer window.

Reports suggest that FC Barcelona was keen on signing Sterling this summer on loan. However, They couldn’t get the signatures of the English winger. With the transfer window over, Barcelona is looking to push for a possible loan move to bring Sterling to Camp Nou.

Although Sterling has been a crucial starter for Man City previously, the arrival of Jack Grealish has led to Sterling struggling for minutes. The city is keen to renew Sterling’s contract but there is no progress. Further, various offers from different clubs are putting pressure on Manchester City on deciding Sterling’s future.

The 26-year-old has been a crucial part of the Man City squad over the years. The former Liverpool man has scored 125 goals for City providing 87 assists alongside. Sterling’s pace on the wing and ability to dribble past defenders is what Guardiola likes about Sterling. A possible Barcelona move would prove out to be a very good move for Barcelona.

How will Barcelona benefit from Sterling’s services?

With Sterling’s possible loan move to Barcelona, The Catalan would have a strong offensive front with Sterling’s addition. Sterling would look to compliment the likes of Depay, Brathwaite, and Ansu Fati as well as Luuk de Jong. Even though Barcelona has not had the best of starts to the season, Sterling would look to solve Barcelona’s offensive problems.

Ronald Koeman who is under a lot of pressure due to Barcelona’s current performance will look to revive the Catalan side. After the departure of Messi and Griezmann, Barcelona has been struggling offensively. With Ansu Fati returning from injury and soon the possible return of Dembele, Barca and Koeman will look to bring back good quality football.

It would be interesting to see how Barcelona approaches the January transfer window. However, keeping an eye on a possible Sterling move to Barcelona.
