Bayern are confident and waiting as Chelsea negotiate with Rudiger

As negotiations between Antonio Rudiger and Chelsea are delayed, Bayern Munich are seemingly growing confident to sign the player. As per reports, the German is demanding upwards of £400,000 a week from his existing club.

With his contract expiring in summer 2022, Rudiger was in talks with Bayern and Real Madrid. The German club is ready to sign the centre-back by meeting his wage demands. Madrid will also be challenging Bayern by offering the player his desired salary.

Chelsea had put an offer of £130k per week later increasing to £150k per week. However, the Blues are not ready to increase this offer further as negotiations are still in process.

Reason behind Bayern’s growing interest in Rudiger

The 28-yrs-old Germany international is the teams first choice LCB. The defender found his success again under manager, Thomas Tuchel.

Rudiger played a key role in Chelsea’s Champions League road to victory. The Blues’ defence was almost impeccable throughout last season. Rudiger’s dominant presence and his pace was troublesome for many forwards and he now sits perfectly as the leader in Chelsea’s errorless defence.

As a result, the German defender has risen to fame and is now a hot shot. Bayern thinks very highly of the player and their interest has given him a huge confidence boost.

What does the future hold for Toni?

At present Rudiger is still waiting for a positive response from Chelsea’s board. The player and his agent felt disrespected and underappreciated by Chelsea’s contract offer worth just £150,000 a week. While star signing Romelu Lukaku who is the same age as Antonio Rudiger earns around £350,000 a week.

If the London Giants agrees to the demands, the German will become the highest earner at club and one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League. Interestingly, Mohamed Salah has demanded the same wage from Liverpool as Rudiger – £400,000 a week.

Although the decision is yet to be made about the player’s future, Rudiger seems content with Tuchel and his teammates.
