Bayern Munich start their Champions League with a 2-0 win over Inter Milan

Bayern Munich continues their dominant Champions League form in full swing with a win over Inter Milan. The Bavarians defeated Inter Milan 2-0 at San Siro on Wednesday. The goal difference would be a lot more if not for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. Onana made a lot of fantastic saves to deny total and complete Bayern Munich domination.

Leroy Sane started the scoring for Bayern at San Sirro. Sane scored the first goal 25 minutes into the match. Moreover, he is also had involvement in the second goal. His shot to the goal was helped by Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio in the 66th minute. This win is the 19th straight win for Bayern in their Champions League opening games.

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was all praises for Leroy Sane in the post-match conference. Nagelsmann said:

“Leroy helped us (Bayern Munich) score two goals, the first on a great ball from Kimmich but that was difficult to control. On the second he showed how he can move things quickly, he did really well. We could have sealed the result earlier even, but I am happy.”

Inter Milan has lost two straight matches in Serie A including the Milan Derby against AC Milan. Moreover, what must be more embarrassing is how they were dominated by Bayern Munich. Bayern had 21 shots on goals as compared to just nine attempts by Inter Milan.

“We were up against an extraordinary team, one of the best in Europe”

said Inter manager Simone Inzaghi.

“We should have done better as a team on the first goal, then we improved and created a lot of chances, but we made mistakes with the final ball. Against teams like this you need to have the perfect match and we didn’t have that but we were facing a team of really great quality”
