Benjamin Sesko: Chelsea to miss out on £50m target to Man Utd

Chelsea could now miss out on £50m target, Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.

Benjamin Sesko in the Premier League?

Christopher Vivell has been appointed as Man Utd’s permanent director of recruitment. That could lead to different outcome for Chelsea. Vivell was technical director of the Blues for a short period. He then joined the Red Devils on a temporary basis last summer.

Although, the 38-year-old has now been given higher responsibility. Now, he has a full-time role at Old Trafford. And it would not be a surprise to see him make new signings at his new club. He might go all out to sign players who are on his former side’s radar.

The Blues are looking for a new centre-forward. They’ll be busy during the new transfer window. Recently, they have been tracking Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap in his match against Tottenham Hotspur.

Nicolas Jackson will likely be missing the rest of the season. He has been finding it hard in front of the goal. He is now on a goal drought for eight consecutive games. While Christopher Nkunko is set to leave the Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The west London side could let go off Nkunku in the next transfer window. He is seen struggling in the Premier League. The Frenchman has got interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United since January.

This could surely mean that Chelsea could sign a new No.9 very soon. And Sesko being top on their list, is linked with them with a move in the next transfer market.

Vivell could rival Chelsea for Benjamin Sesko

The west London side is tracking RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. Vivell is very familiar with the forward. They could sign him for £50 million in the summer. But they could be in race with Arsenal and Man Utd for the player. The Gunners have also been linked with the Slovenia international. And Vivell’s former side United could also make a move for him.

The Blues director of recruitment was key in the Slovenian’s move to Red Bull Salzburg. And then also played a vital role for Leipzig to get their man. He is a huge fan of the player as well.

On the Bundesliga website, he was quoted saying: “Benjamin Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player.

“He has all the qualities to do that. He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him and is strong in the air.

“Benjamin is a real goalscorer, who despite his 1.95m (6’4″) is mobile and technically strong. His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”

The Slovenian finisher is in a good form for the German side. He has 16 goals in 32 appearances so far. Last season, he has 18 goals in 42 games. This season he would easily cross the 20-goal mark.

Sesko scores his 100th career goal

Enzo Maresca’s team are in race to bring the 21-year-old from Bundesliga to Stamford Bridge. They are expected to face competition from other Premier League clubs as well like Arsenal and Manchester Utd.

The forward has been grabbing headlines in Germany this season. So far he has netted 15 times for RB Leipzig. He scored in their 2-0 win over FC St. Pauli on Sunday. That goal was very special one for the player. It was his 100th for club and country in his professional career.

The Slovenia international being just 21 years of age, it is a really incredible feat.

Author’s Opinion

Benjamin Sesko under Enzo Maresca would be great watch. He has been impressive this campaign in Bundesliga. Being only 21, he is just at the start of his career. He will surely achieve much more over his entire professional time.
