Chelsea have now identified Benoit Badiashile as their priority signing this January transfer window. Chelsea signed Kalidou Koulibaly last summer, now reports suggest that they are already planning to cut their losses. The defender have failed to impress at Stamford Bridge, albeit in a brief timeframe. Reports now suggest that Kalidou Koulibaly could go back to Italy, which would open up the position for Benoit Badiashile. Badiashile will now fit the bill of becoming the left-sided center back that Chelsea needs. The Frenchman is just 21 and have plenty of time to develop as a player.

Chelsea was forced to look for an alternative defender as RB Leipzig player Josko Gvardiol’s price hiked. The player is now expected to cost more than £79m. Badiashile is one such young player who have now gained the interest of the Blues after they were forced to look for an alternative. Reports claim that Benoit Badiashile is now the priority signing for Chelsea. Moreover, Badiashile is likely to sign for the Chelsea team this January transfer window in a deal of around £30m. The defender have been lauded as a ‘monster’ by many journalists previously. His performance at Monaco have proved this. He has an average of 2.63 aerial duals won in 90 minutes. It is comparatively a lot more than Koulibaly in the same timeframe.
For a relatively low price of £30m, Benoit Badiashile would be a good signing for the Chelsea team. It would leave the manager further funds to sign more potential players in the January transfer window. The player is still very young and have plenty of time to develop. He could become one of the best defenders at Chelsea. Whereas Koulibaly is 31 years old and would soon be approaching the end of his peak years.
