Benoît Badiashile could join Chelsea this January transfer window. Chelsea have been monitoring Croatian player Joško Gvardiol for quite some time. But as the player’s price continues to rise, the Blues are likely to look elsewhere. Benoît Badiashile is the name that has emerged. According to reports Chelsea will be looking to sign Badiashile in the upcoming January transfer window. The player is being looked at as an alternative for the RB Leipzig player. Moreover, both players are young, promising, and left-sided centre-backs. Badiashile will be a suitable alternative for Joško Gvardiol if Chelsea actually goes ahead with the deal. Benoît Badiashile is a Ligue 1 player, who made his senior team debut back in the UEFA Nations League A. He featured in the matches against Austria and Denmark.

Reports suggest that the fee asked for Joško Gvardiol is what made Chelsea look elsewhere. The Blues looks to upgrade their backline in the transfer window. Benoît Badiashile is most likely the alternative for the Croatian player. A deal of around £30m could be enough for the player to join the Blues. It seems like Chelsea are making significant progress in signing the 21-year-old player. Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano have also claimed,
“More on Benoît Badiashile deal. Talks are well advanced also on player side as French centre back is open to join Chelsea in January, long term deal has been discussed.”
He further added,
“Chelsea are working to get deal sealed with AS Monaco as soon as possible.”
Chelsea will surely prioritize signing a new defender as they will need someone to replace Thiago Silva in near future.
Benoît Badiashile could be the perfect key player for Chelsea. And as things stand it looks like things are heading in the right direction for Chelsea. The Blues could end up signing Badiashile for €35-40million, which would end up being a bargain for such a young talented player. Furthermore, the player still has his best years ahead of him.
