Both City and Arsenal secure much-needed three points, while Spurs earned nothing

Manchester City secured a nail-biting win over Fulham in the weekend to remain in the top two position in the Premier League. After drawing the last two matches, this win was very important for the citizens to remain in the title race as Arsenal and Liverpool are also pushing so hard. Both Arsenal and Liverpool secured all three points same as Manchester City. While Liverpool managed to beat Crystal Palace with a narrow win, the Gunners secured an easy win over Southampton.

Arsenal secured a comprehensive win over Southampton

Arsenal conceded first in the match against Southampton after Cameron Archer scored the opening goal against Arsenal 10 minutes after the start of the second half. However, since then it’s all about Arsenal. The Gunners scored the equalizer three minutes after Cameron’s opening goal. Arsenal’s forward Havertz scored the equalizer for his seventh goal in a row at home. England international Saka finds Havertz, who fires from the edge of the box after a brief run. The German international scored his fourth goal in the Premier League this season.

After Havertz scored the second goal for the Gunners in the 68th minute and finally England star Saka hit the nail in the coffin just before the ninety-minute mark. Arsenal finished the match with a four-point gap at the top of the Premier League table. After the tense first half, Mikel Arteta’s men were able to find Rythm in the second half and ultimately secured all three points.

Manchester City secure a much-needed win over Fulham in the Premier League

Defending Champion Manchester City secured a nail-biting win after beating Fulham in the Premier League. Fulham scored the opening goal in that match. However, the Champions are back thanks to Kovacic’s first-half brace and Doku’s second-half goal. Although the last few minutes of the match became very much interesting after Fulham’s substitute forward Muniz scored Fulham’s second goal to make it 3-2. After City’s main defensive midfielder Rodri got injured, Kovacic is making regular start for the Citizens. And till now he has made his mark on the pitch.

Ultimately, Manchester City wins their first match after drawing the last two with Arsenal and Newcastle respectively. City are currently in the second of the table level with Arsenal with the points but due to the goal difference, they are in the second position. Liverpool are leading the table right now with 18 points after seven matchday. The Reds are also managed to secure all three points after beating Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur lost to struggling Brighton & Hove Albion

While it was a great weekend for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City, something negative happened to Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs lost their first match after being unbeaten in the previous five matches across all competitions. Tottenham Hotspur are beaten by Brighton on the weekend by 3-2. Despite taking a healthy two-goal lead in the first half, Spurs wasted that lead ultimately Brighton scored three second-half goals to turn the match in their favor. Brighton are currently in the sixth position in the league table just above Newcastle and both scored 12 points in seven matches till now.

Spurs forward Brennan Johnson scored the opener in that match. The 23-year-old scored his sixth goal in a row across all competitions. Around 15 minutes after Johnson’s goal, Spurs captain Madisson scored the second goal. But all this effort went in vain and Spurs ended up losing the match by 3-2.

Other Premier League news

Chelsea and Manchester United both draw their matches against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa respectively. While Chelsea are in the fourth position of the table, Manchester United are in the fourteenth position with only eight points in the last seven matches.
