Jadon Sancho has left fans stunned with his superb form since joining Chelsea from Man United on loan. The 24-year old played a key role in the Blues’ 4-2 win against Brighton last weekend winning a penalty and providing a brilliant assist.
Since arriving at the Bridge, he has now been directly involved in a goal in each of his three appearances. It’s a great indication, as he has played only 173 minutes under Maresca.
After the win against the Seagulls’, the Englishman made his feelings about his new club very clear. He joined his teammates on the pitch for a lap of honour. The 24-year couldn’t hide his happiness and smiled on as “Blue is the colour” echoed around Stamford bridge. He praised the fans for their support and made an orchestra conductor gesture towards them.
Following the game, he posted a celebratory post on his Instagram handle @sanchooo10. He says;
“Special afternoon to make my first appearance at the bridge! +3 @colepalmer10 โฆ no words needed [cold emoji]!”
Chelsea have signed Sancho on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. The former Man City and Borussia Dortmund winger had been on their radar from a long time.
Now, he’s enjoying life at his childhood club and has admitted that it’s a dream come true for him. In an interview, Jadon says;
“London is where I grew up and Iโm happy to be back. Chelsea is iconic.”
“My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like them. Itโs a great feeling.”
Chelsea slammed for showing “Small club mentality”
Chelsea took a dig at rivals Man United as they were thrashed 3-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. Jadon Sancho’s stunning performance gave them the opportunity to take a cheeky dig at the Red Devils.
The Blues’ official twitter account posted a picture of Sancho and Palmer celebrating after United’s defeat to Spurs. The 24-year old also reposted this tweet, making his feelings clear about his parent club.
He also praised the fans for showing him immense support in his first game at the Stamford bridge. He says;
“Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player. It was a great feeling and I really appreciated the reception I got from the fans.”
“It was a great feeling [to get a standing ovation from the fans] and my family and friends were in the crowd for the game, so that made it extra special. I’m happy to have been able to assist for goals in recent games, I’m settling in well here and I just want to keep this momentum going and keep being able to assist my team-mates.”
However, that tweet angered the United faithful who slammed Chelsea for showing “Small club mentality” and labelling Sancho as a “traitor.” An online war took place between the Blues’ fans and the United fans filled with proper banter.
Chelsea fans found the post very funny, and gave shoutouts to the admin to receive a pay raise. Next time these two clubs meet at Old Trafford, fans must be prepared for another war of words among the rival fanbases. This tweet just added fuel to the fire rivalry between these two historic clubs.
Man United legend suggests the “perfect replacement” for Jadon Sancho
Manchester United legend Louis Saha has suggested the club to make a move for midfielder Xavi Simmons to replace Jadon Sancho. The Dutchman is currently on loan at German club RB Leipzig from Paris-Saint Germain. The young lad is one of the products of the world’s finest football academy, La Masia of Barcelona.
He moved to the French league champions in 2019, and spent just six months in the senior team before being loaned out to PSV. His impressive season in the Eredivise outfit earned him a move to RB Leipzig where he bagged 10 goals and 15 assists in just 43 games.
Saha believes that the Dutch youngster has the creativity and footballing IQ to survive in the Premier league. He feels that he could be tactically more fit than Jadon Sancho was under Erik Ten Hag.
Speaking in an interview at CaughtOffside, he says;
“I think Manchester United should target Xavi Simons, I really like him and he’s the sort of player that could have a huge impact at the club. I definitely think Simons has the capacity to be a success if he did end up at United.”
“He’s very hard to defend against because he’s always on the move, United still need legs in midfield and more creativity and unpredictability. Jadon Sancho is a player that didn’t fit it tactically, but I don’t think that will be the case with Simons.”
