Brazilian Midfielder Douglas Luiz Joins Juventus

Brazilian international completed his move after joining Seria side Juventus from Aston Villa in this summer transfer window. As per reports, The deal is done and the Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz has signed a five-year contract with Italian Club Juventus until June 30, 2029. Aston Villa’s star joined the Bianconeri after both clubs agreed on a swap deal the previous month.

Douglas Luiz joined the Aston Villa in 2019 from Manchester City. Although the midfielder was on a contract with Manchester City, Douglas Luiz did not make a single appearance for City. Luiz spent two loan spells with LaLiga side Girona and made 48 appearances over two seasons.

But the 26-year-old came back in the Premier League football in 2019 and started shining in Aston Villa. Since his joining in the summer of 2019, the 26-year-old had a resurgence at Villa Park and made 206 appearances for Villa. Lately, Douglas Luiz caught the attention of big clubs after his stunning performance last season at Aston Villa.

Last season the Brazilian international made 53 appearances for Villa in all competitions, scored 10 goals, and bagged 10 assists, helping Aston Villa to fourth place in the premier league. The Brazilian’s brilliant performance helps Villa to secure Champions League football for the first time since 1983.

Douglas Luiz also represented Brazil at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, helping his country to win Gold in the final against Spain. Luiz’s brilliant performance at the club level keeps him in the Brazil squad for the Copa America 2024 tournament.

Douglas Luiz to Juventus

Last month, Juventus reached Aston Villa to sign Douglas Luiz in the summer. Villa offered a swap deal for Luiz including Weston McKennie and Samuel Iliang Jr. But after Weston Mckennie refused to join Villa Park, Juventus’ two youngsters Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iliang Jr joined Aston Villa after the completion of the deal. According to Fabrizio Romano, The Bianconeri also agreed to pay an additional 28M for the Brazilian along with two young players.

Now, the 26-year-old is ready to start a new career in Seria until 2029. And there is no doubt that if Douglas Luiz Keeps giving his best, he will be one of the best Seria players in the upcoming years. Juventus fans are expected that the Brazilian will help them to add some trophies to the club’s trophy cabinet.
