Sebastien Haller’s temporary replacement has been identified. Anthony Modeste of FC Köln will be joining Borussia Dortmund soon. The transfer fee has been agreed upon by the two clubs, according to Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director of BVB.

The overall conditions for us in the current situation were not entirely easy. But we have been able to find an absolute dream solution – also for Edin [Terzic]. He will do us good.

Tony [Modeste] knows the Bundesliga. He will be able to integrate very quickly, speaks very good German and is top fit. He scored 20 goals last year and also showed in the years before that he can score.

Who Is Anthony Modeste

Modeste is a 34-year-old striker who scored 20 goals in 32 Bundesliga games the previous season. He will arrive at Signal Iduna Park for a reported fee of five million Euros.

With just one year remaining on his deal, Modeste is willing to leave the club this summer. Koln are in need of money and hence they are also willing to sell. And it now seems that he will join Borussia Dortmund in the coming days.

Dortmund needed a striker this season. They sold Erling Halland to Manchester City for a reported sum of £51 million. They signed Sebastian Haller from Ajax for £29 million. However, disaster struck as the Ivorian was diagnosed with a malignant testicular tumour. He is set to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Borussia Dortmund were trying to sign a short-term contract with a new striker in Haller’s absence. Numerous names, like as Edinson Cavani and Krzysztof Pitek, were on their radar. However, they went for the Koln man in the end.

Modeste has 83 goals in his Bundesliga career, making 190 appearances. He can turn out to be a shrewd addition to Dortmund’s front line.
