Carabao Cup: Arsenal in shambles after Isak masterclass

Arsenal‘s road to silverware this season also seems uncertain. The Magpies humbles Arsenal in a thrilling semi-final first of the Carabao Cup.

NEWCASTLE 2 ARSENAL 0

It can be seen that Newcastle seems to have taken a huge step toward the Carabao Cup. So, this will be possibly their first-ever major trophy since 1955.

This encounter against the Gunners has not only encouraged Newcastle but also their chances of winning more.

Their star Alexander Isak proved why Arsenal needs a striker. The Gunners were using the set pieces according to their favor to disbalance the Magpies. It is quite unexpected to receive such excitement about winning a corner in the Emirates.

However, while Arsenal troubled Newcastle with their signature set pieces, there was no killer touch. Martin Dubravka punched the maximum of the set pieces of Arsenal making him a boxer rather than a goalie. The shots on target were 23, but only 2 were meant for the goal.

The bottle started to happen during the latter half of the game. Newcastle went full berserker, making them more dominating. Eddie Howe made the perfect use of Alexander Isak up top.

The Emirates has been stunned by the performance of the Swedish international. Isak has been incredible during the season, showing levels. He has shown new levels for the Magpies. Though he wants to be a part of the Gunners’ lineup, he has taken their chance at the Champions League.

Isak rose and made the match to his daily routine like it was nothing. The Gunner’s backline appeared in shambles by his mere presence. Saliba’s turn in stopping did no problem to the visitors. Isak played a very important role in Newcastle’s attacks before delivering the crucial spot of clenching the victory.

Arsenal seems to be in a huge pothole after this horrendous performance.

CARABAO CUP DREAM MIGHT BE OVER FOR ARTETA

Arteta is currently in shambles after the performance. He was immensely impressed by Isak and said that he was the next big thing.

The current formation of the Gunners is all but attack. The absence of the winger Saka and a prolific striker surely is affecting the team. The amount of wasted opportunities has put Arteta in a bad spot.

And also controversy struck when Arteta made the excuse of differences between the Carabao Cup and the Premier League.

It is quite funny to think how Arsenal managed to perform poorly both in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.

The manager will have to take massive responsibility for improving the Arsenal team. The present season seems to be hellish for Arteta. These mere excuses won’t win the trophies.

And to make it worse for the Gunners, Anthony Gordon makes it twice for the Magpies. The Carabao Cup seems to be getting out of hand for the Gunners.

Arsenal seems to make this a waking call. So, the transfers coming through will affect the squad overall. Arteta will have to make himself prepared without any excuses.

AUTHOR’S OPINION

We can see Arsenal already seems to be in a lost situation. Only a good signing and determination can make this team win a silverware.

Arteta’s excuse won’t come in handy if poor performances in big games become a daily routine. More problems and the management should sack Arteta.

Overall, there is still some time, but I think Arsenal is not winning any trophies in this present season. Arteta seems to have lost touch with the team.
