Celtic must sign Bamba Dieng as a priority striker

Celtic rarely faces problems when it comes to scoring goals under Postecoglou. This was evident from their indomitable 9-0 victory over Dundee United. One of the most prolific players in the game for Celtic was Kyogo Furuhashi. However, extra depth in attacking will certainly go a long way for Celtic. One such player that Celtic must add to their ranks is Bamba Dieng

Furuhashi has scored 12 goals in 20 league appearances for Celtic. Moreover, in the 9-0 victory of Celtic over Dundee the Japanese scored an incredible hattrick. The 27-year-old is in incredible goalscoring form this season. Furuhashi has an average of 2.2 shots per game with the Celtics which is the sixth highest average for shots per game. Bamba Dieng is sixth in this metric too with having 1.5 shots per game. Moreover, they are identical stats of the rate of shots per 90 minutes this season (3.42 v 3.43). Moreover, both players are very versatile. Both of them can play either as a winger or as a center forward. This means there is a chance of having a solid partnership in the attacking position for the Celtics.

Celtic manger dismisses Bamba Dieng rumours

Celtic manager has dismissed the links to two strikers that Celtics were heavily linked with in the summer window. One is Bamba Dieng and the other is Barcelona’s Alex Collado. Speaking to Fourfourtwo, the sports website, Postecoglou said:

“Neither of them are on my radar…….. There is a possibility of some guys moving out and then it’s about finding the right fit for what we need. If the right individual comes along then we will do our work then and move on them. But at the moment we are talking to nobody and there is no-one on the horizon.
