Both teams want to sign 20-year-old Ivory Coast international Mario Dorgeles from Denmark side Nordsjælland. The Premier League has produced some of the best African talents in the past so Mario Dorgesles could add his name to that tally.
Who is the next target for Chelsea and Arsenal?
Mario Dorgeles joined the Danish side Nordsjælland in 2022 from Right to Dream Academy at the age of 18. He made his senior team debut with Nordsjælland in August 2022, against AaB in the Danish Superliga. After that over the last two seasons, the midfielder made 52 appearances for Nordsjælland but there was no luck for the 20-year-old. However, this season is totally different as Mario Dorgeles is showing his class on the field. So far, into this season Dorgeles made 13 appearances across all competitions, scored one goal, and provided two assists.
This season, the 20-year-old midfielder is playing more of the central role compared to the defensive midfielder zone in the last two seasons. And seems like that really worked out for Mario Dorgeles. In August this year, he was called up to the senior national team for the first time in his career. Till now, the 20-year-old made two appearances for his country Ivory Coast.
The Gunners are seeing Mario Dorgeles as the possible replacement for Jorginho and Thomas Partey
Arsenal and Chelsea are the two giants chasing to sign Mario Dorgeles in the next transfer window. Arsenal are set to lose Thomas Partey and Jorginho at the end of this season. Both of them are on their way to leaving the club. So, at this point, the Gunners are looking for a young and brilliant midfielder who could replace Jorginho and Thomas Partey. Apart from Chelsea and Arsenal, other big clubs are also interested in signing Mario Dorgeles. Clubs like Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen, Newcastle United, and Marseille are on this list. Now the question is whether Mario Dorgeles will leave Nordsjælland in the next transfer window to join a new club. Many rumors were going on during the last summer transfer window about Mario Dorgeles’ move to the Premier League. But ultimately the 20-year-old remained at Denmark for his further growth before moving to a new club.
