England international Marc Guehi has been turning quite a few heads this season with his solid defensive performance. Guehi for his side Crystal Palace has displayed a strong performance in the heart of the side. Which has not been gone unnoticed by other top sides. Top premier clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool have turned out to be frontrunners in the race to sign the player. As both teams look to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season. Coming through the ranks of the Chelsea Academy, Mark Guehi had only two first team appearances with the blues. Following two successful loan spells at Swansea City, he moved to Palace in 2021.

With Chelsea’s backline struggling with constant injuries with the likes of Wesley Fofana, Reece James and Badiashile. Guehi inclusion could solidify the team’s defensive bonding with Levi Colwill for the blues. With his young age of 24 he perfectly fits the blues recent young transfer strategy. Liverpool’s contract renewal for Van Dijk could well set themselves out of the race to sign Guehi. But Slot has already stated the upcoming of a big transfer window to add more dept to the squad. But the blues seems confident with their approach as the former Chelsea man could once again return to the Stamford Bridge to prove himself. With him being also a product of their youth academy before setting to Crystal Palace also sets an emotional context to the potential deal. His return to the blues would not just serve as a chance to prove himself but also help the blues to be title contenders in the next season.
