According to Sky Sports, Chelsea and Juventus are trying to sign Manchester United’s, winger Jadon Sancho. The English winger cannot seem win the trust of Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag for the upcoming season. Sancho was sent on loan last season to Dortmund who reached the Champions League final last season. However, the English winger had to return to the Red Devils due to a no-buyout clause in the deal. Sancho is trying to move away from Old Trafford with several big clubs interested in the winger. Chelsea are one of the clubs trying to sign Jadon Sancho, despite their squad problems.
However, Chelsea have already signed over twenty players in this transfer window. The Blues will try to exchange players in the deal with Jadon Sancho to avoid Premier League FFP. Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell are two players not included in Enzo Maresca’s plans for the upcoming season. Manchester United has plenty of issues in the left-back position. Luke Shaw has been injured in the opening game of the season. It is uncertain when the English defender will return to the squad. Manchester United have signed Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich to fill the fullback position. The player has worked with Erik Ten Hag before in Ajax. Diogo Dalot can also play in both the fullback positions.
Manchester United may sign Raheem Sterling or Ben Chilwell
Ben Chilwell looks the best option for Manchester United. However, after the departure of Aaron Wan Bisaka and Luke Shaw’s injury, the Red Devils only have two fit fullbacks in the squad. However, Erik Ten Hag has ruled out the signing of Ben Chilwell. The Dutch manager is confident in the ability of Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot before Luke Shaw is available for selection again. Raheem Sterling will be an interesting choice for the Red Devils.
Manchester United already have Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford in the left-winger position. However, Sterling can provide better experience and quality to the Red Devils. The biggest obstacle in signing Raheem Sterling is the winger’s wages. Sterling is one of the highest-earning players in the Chelsea squad. Manchester United are unlikely to meet the same wages which will make Sterling one of the highest earners in the club. Chelsea are desperate to sell the English winger and is ready to accept a cheap price. Chelsea and other clubs will try to complete these deals before the transfer window closes on Friday.
Desperate situation for Raheem Sterling at Chelsea
Chelsea are trying their best to sell certain players this summer. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly stated Sterling is not in his plans. The English winger is stripped of the number seven jersey and not included in the training with the first team. Sterling is keen on staying in the Premier League for next season. Crystal Palace are also one of the clubs interested in signing the former Manchester City man. Enzo Maresca has told these players will not get a single minute of playtime if they stay for another season.
Chelsea already have a squad of over forty players for this season. Many players will not get consistent game time throughout the season. Chelsea’s attack is the most crowded position for the upcoming season. The Blues signed Pedro Neto from Wolves this summer. Fans also saw the return of Joao Felix to Stamford Bridge after the deal for the Spanish striker Samu Omorodion collapsed with Atletico Madrid. It is a tough decision for Enzo Maresca to choose the perfect attacking combination. After Noni Madueke’s hat trick against the Wolves, the selection process is getting more difficult. Chelsea will have a long season this year.
