Chelsea are considering 42-Year-Old Manager to Replace Struggling Mauricio Pochettino

Xabi Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, is being considered by Chelsea to succeed Mauricio Pochettino as the team’s manager.

After a disastrous season, the Premier League club reportedly is considering to let Pochettino go, according to Sports Zone. Following yet another loss, this time at home to Wolves at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are currently in eleventh in the Premier League.

Chelsea have now lost 10 of its 23 Premier League games this season, most recently to Wolves. Pochettino’s team is currently closer to relegation than to the fourth-place team in the league with just 9 wins.

According to Sports Zone, Chelsea’s owners might be considering changing the manager immediately. Behdad Eghbali is considering Alonso, who is also being pursued by Bayern Munich and Liverpool. He is eager to bring in the Spaniard at this time. However, Todd Boehly might be less receptive to the team making an abrupt management change.

Chelsea are having a disastrous season

This season, Chelsea has given up more goals than they have scored. The fact that the team has a negative goal differential after 23 games this season ought to worry club officials greatly.
Despite joining last summer and being able to work with a number of new players. Pochettino has not been able to have a positive impact.

The team’s sole accomplishment this year has been making it to the Carabao Cup final, but they still have a long way to go because Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is standing in their way.

Fans are vocally demanding a change at the club after witnessing Chelsea give up eight goals in their past two league games. It feels like any progress, either on attack or defense, has ceased.
