Todd Boehly does not intend to stop as the Blues continuously spend money on young talents. This season the Blues already spent close to 150M and signed seven players from different positions. The club is on the verge of signing a new goalkeeper for the upcoming season. Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is set to join the Blues within the week. Filip will be the eighth signing for Chelsea under new manager Enzo Maresca. But still, the Blues want some more additions to the team.
Chelsea already signed two new strikers in this transfer window including Marc Guiu from Barcelona and Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa. Marc Guiu already started both games for Chelsea in their Pre-season games against Wrexham and Celtic. But the Blues’ main man for the number nine position is Nigerian Nicolas Jackson. However, currently, Jackson is suffering from an injury that kept him out from the Pre-season.
Chelsea also have a couple of options for the striker position apart from Nicolas Jackson and new signings. They are veteran Belgian striker Romelu Lukakau and Armando Broja. However, Romelu Lukaku could leave the Club in the summer as Italian side Napoli is very interested in signing him. Meanwhile, Armando Broja made only 13 appearances for the Blues before moving to Fulham on a loan spell in the second half of the League. So, it looks like both players will not find the number nine position in the Chelsea first-team squad in the upcoming season. A new striker will be a good option for the Blues as both the new signings Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman are very young and could take time before giving their best on the Pitch.
Who is the next Chelsea target?
As, the Blues are looking for a new striker and as the board is an admirer of young talents, 19-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko will be the best option. Recently Moukoko’s agent came out and stated that Youssoufa Moukoko is keen to leave the club in this summer transfer window. Enzo Maresca could consider Moukoko for their new transfer target.
Moukoko has a huge potential and he is just 19 years old. The 19-year-old scored 141 goals in his 88 academy games, before making his senior debut for Borussia Dortmund at the age of 16, becoming the youngest ever Bundesliga player in the History. Within a month Moukoko became the Champions League youngest ever player and became the youngest goal scorer ever in Bundesliga history. Over the next two seasons, the German youngster grew rapidly and also earned his position in the German national team. But last season was a bad season for Youssoufa Moukoko as the German international only appeared 27 for Dortmund across all competitions. As new players joined last season for the striker’s position including Niclas Fullkrug, the 19-year-old finds it hard to get sufficient playing time.
So, Moukoko’s agent reveals that the youngster is keen to leave the club this summer and wants to move to a new club. Chelsea might consider Moukoko as he is very young and could improve a lot in the future.
