Chelsea had already started their groundwork even before the transfer window even began.

Chelsea to try and sign a striker this transfer window

Since the injury of Armando Broja before the Premier League resumed again, it became clear that Chelsea are definitely going to sign a new striker. They were linked with Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix lately. Though it could be a complicated deal for the January window. As the Premier League team is gradually adapting to Graham Potter’s possession-based football. The opportunity to sign such a world-class forward would be too good to pass for them. Joao Felix had shown the world of his capabilities at the World Cup. Felix looks to leave Atletico this January after his fallout with the club and the manager. Chelsea are said to be interested in signing the player either on a loan deal with a buy obligation. However, the fee could be as high as £113 million if Atletico look to recoup the amount that they spent on the player when they signed him from Benfica.

But According to the Athletic, the Blues are looking for more of a ‘penalty box specialist’ in January. Although there are not too many of those options available for them. They might have to search far and wide for a player in that position.
