Since joining Chelsea, Christopher Nkunku has mostly witnessed speculation owing to his limited play. There was much expectation about the roles he would enjoy with the club. However, a knee injury saw him miss much of his first few months, sending him out of the playing line-up. Since returning, Nkunku hasn’t enjoyed enough starts with Enzo Maresca despite showing quality in those appearances. This has apparently caused Nkunku to think about alternative plans, the possibility of a transfer also being on his mind in case he stays out of the squad.
Nkunku, however, Chelsea believes him a very important asset and holds him well-placed in their attacking plans. The current club for Nkunku was PSG as he began his career there, and they are said to be monitoring the situation to bring him back in case things do not change much about his frustrations at Chelsea by the new year.
Future of Christopher Nkunku
The future for Christopher Nkunku at Chelsea is very much a hot topic, with recent reports suggesting that he will be moving on as he is not being given sufficient starting opportunities nor placed in positions where he can utilize his strengths on the field. Nkunku arrived at Chelsea amid much media fanfare from RB Leipzig. However, his first season at the club was a total disaster. He missed much of the campaign with a hamstring knee injury shortly after making his debut.
Performance
Nkunku has had some good games under his belt since coming back to form. However, he has only started one game in the Premier League. Chelsea will not let go of Nkunku to other clubs anytime soon. The French midfielder is considered to be an important part of the future. The aforementioned deal runs till 2029 and the club wants him to be part of a big attack.
