Since then Todd Boehly took the ownership of Chelsea football club, the Blues already spent more than 1B to bring some of the best talents around the world. This transfer window is no different for Chelsea. The Blues already completed the signing of seven new players including Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Estevao, Omari Kellyman, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Caleb Wiley. Till now Enzo Maresca brought players for every section on the pitch except the goalkeeper position. But now it looks like for the goalkeeper position, Chelsea will sign a new player.
The Blues’ new boss Enzo Maresca wants a new goalkeeper in the current squad. Last season two Chelsea goalkeepers Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic were unable to perform brilliantly. Both the goalkeepers joined last season, Robert Sanchez joined from Brighton while Djordje Petrovic joined from New England. Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino used both of them, but no one was able to show his best form. So, now new manager Enzo Maresca wants a new player who could compete with these goalkeepers and could start for the Blues.
So, Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen of Villarreal for the goalkeeper position right now. Enzo Maresca believed that Flip Jorgensen is the man that he needed for the goalkeeper position. For Filip Jorgensen, the Blues have to pay a transfer fee of around 25M. Both the clubs agreed to the terms and conditions. The 22-year-old is also very interested in joining Enzo Maresca’s side to wants to give his best form. Jorgensen had a decent last season with Villarreal featuring 36 games in Laliga last season for the Spanish side. No doubt that Jorgensen will be the first-choice goalkeeper for Chelsea under new manager Enzo Maresca.
Other Chelsea signings
No top six clubs in the Premier League have not signed that many players in this transfer window. Liverpool fans are still waiting for their first signings of this season’s transfer window under new manager Arne Slot. However, both Chelsea and Liverpool are now chasing former Juventus midfielder Adrian Rabiot in this summer. Adrien Rabiot is available for free now. At the start of this season’s transfer window, Ardrien Rabiot left Juventus as a free agent. So, both Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the 2018 World Cup winner. Money will not be an issue for signing Adrian but time will say whether Chelsea managed to sign him or not.
While Chelsea are looking for an experienced player like Adrien Rabiot, the board is also trying to sign more young talents. Right now Chelsea are chasing young 16-year-old Brazilian talent Gabriel Mec. The 2008-born Brazilian midfielder is under the radar of the Blues and Chelsea might sign him in this summer.
Amid of everything, Osimhen’s move is unlikely to happen in this summer. Lots of speculations were going on about Osimhen’s move to Chelsea but right now it looks like Osimhen’s move is a far cry. PSG also tried to sign the Nigerian but the French club failed to meet the demand of Napoli.
Players that might leave Chelsea this summer
While new players are joining Enzo Maresca’s side, some players could leave the club this summer. Players like Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Conor Gallagher, David Fofana, Casadei, Kepa, etc.
Lukaku is recently linked with Italian side Napoli, as their new manager Conte is very interested in signing the Belgian forward. But it all depends on the future of Victor Osimhen. Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is also someone who could leave the club this summer. No official offers have been made for the English international but clubs like Spurs and Aston Villa are interested in signing the 24-year-old. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa also could leave the Club.
