Chelsea are to keep an eye on a player who could be Christopher Nkunku’s alternative. Joao Felix has reportedly asked Atletico Madrid to let him go. The Portuguese have made his intentions to leave the club in January clear with them. Chelsea might face competition with other top clubs like PSG, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United. Felix is an integral part of the squad since 2019 following his record-breaking move from Benfica. According to Spanish news outlets, the youngster has told his agent that he would like to leave the club in January.

Chelsea’s interest in the Portuguese

Reports suggest that the youngster’s relationship with the coach and the fans have deteriorated over some time. As a result, Felix’s agent have been looking for clubs for him to make a move. Felix’s moves have always been under scrutiny since his Benfica days, with Atletico Madrid and Manchester United both being interested to sign the player back then. In light of the news, Chelsea have joined the list of clubs that are interested to sign the player. All the interested clubs are keeping a very close eye on the player at the World Cup. The World Cup will be an opportunity to increase his transfer fee by enhancing his reputation.

Nkunku’s injury update

Chelsea’s original interest Christopher Nkunku have suffered a knee injury and have been checked by RB Leipzig’s medical team. This has ruled him out of the World Cup campaign. This could prove as a hurdle in Chelsea’s quest to sign the Belgian player.
