According to SBNation , the Chelsea deal for Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion is in a very critical situation. It is speculated that the two clubs are unable to reach an agreement, and the deal may be very well off. Some reports are also saying that the striker failed his medical for Chelsea. The 20-year-old striker did not play in the Olympic gold medal game for Spain. This made many fans think that the striker was busy due to his move to Stamford Bridge. However, currently, it looks like this is not the case. The Premier League and La Liga seasons are about to begin for both Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid are doing a lot of deals with Premier League clubs this summer transfer window. Chelsea are also one of the clubs after the Spanish giants tried to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher. The move for Gallagher was an unexpected one after the English midfielder played the most minutes for the club last season. Gallagher was also Chelsea’s captain on several occasions last season. Many football experts say that Conor Gallagher was forced out of Chelsea by the owners. New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca told Gallagher that he was not included in Chelsea’s plan for next season.

Atletico Madrid and Chelsea deal of Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher was offered two choices in this transfer window. Either the English midfielder can sign a contract extension at Chelsea for two more years as a squad player or sign for Atletico Madrid. Conor Gallagher chose to sign a long-term contract with Atletico Madrid this summer. Fans were outraged by the Chelsea management over this decision. Gallagher has been at Chelsea since he was eight years old. The English midfielder even called Chelsea his boyhood club and expressed his desire to stay.

It was important for Chelsea management to sell Conor Gallagher to make new signings due to the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) of the Premier League. After Gallagher was sold, fans expected Chelsea to make some good signings. However, Chelsea ended up signing another left midfielder in the attack position, which is already stacked. Chelsea’s striker problem was also not solved after the Victor Osimhen deal fell off due to financial reasons. Chelsea did not sign a proper replacement for Conor Gallagher, who was arguably one of their best players last season. This poor transfer business by Chelsea affected the situation of a lot of players.

Chelsea’s bad decision was visible during the pre-season

The Conor Gallagher deal might also collapse, according to some reports. In case this happens, both clubs are looking for alternate solutions. Some experts speculate that Joao Felix can make his return to Stamford Bridge. However, no matter what happens, Chelsea is in a big mess. All this mess was visible during Chelsea’s poor pre-season. Chelsea managed to win only one game during their pre-season campaign in the USA. The Blues had the worst pre-season campaign out of all the Premier League clubs. The team looked lost, and there was no clear game plan in the majority of their matches.

Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino finally figured out his tactics at the end of last season. After Chelsea was unlucky due to injuries, they still secured a respectable sixth position. However, Chelsea decided to sack Mauricio Pochettino just before the season. The new manager, Enzo Maresca, is still not able to figure out his tactics with the squad. Chelsea have a squad of 45 players this season. It is very difficult for the manager to integrate all the players into the lineup. Many players may end up struggling for game time in the next season.
