Chelsea deal with unresolved transfer business

According to Football London, Chelsea’s controversy with the transfer business continues even after the transfer window closed. Chelsea have dealt with some ‘unresolved’ player exits, despite the season having started for the Premier League clubs. Other Premier clubs have finished their transfer business in a very efficient way. However, Chelsea are still in a state of confusion with key players like Ben Chilwell, Cesare Casadei, Deivid Washington, and various academy prospects. These players face uncertainty for their future at the club. The club warned them about the potential no game time with the first team. However, these players did not manage to find a new club before the summer transfer window closed.

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, is currently focusing on certain players for the first team for the season. The manager is concerned over the inconsistency showed by the Blues in their opening games in this season. However, the manager will have to resolve the challenges of squad, after the international break is over. Enzo Maresca has given clarity to these players regarding their position in the club for the season. However, this situation is becoming more difficult for the Blues as the season is progressing.

Chelsea have found a possible replacement for Marc Cucurella

Chelsea tried signing Lecce left-back, Patrick Dorgu, in the summer transfer window. The 19-year-old was a transfer target to improve the left-back situation at Chelsea. However, there was no official deal that happened between the two clubs for the youngster. Moreover, Chelsea signed Caleb Wiley, who was a more affordable option, available for a transfer fee of just £8 million.

Caleb Wiley is currently on loan at French club, RC Strasbourg. Dorgu had an impressive campaign in Serie A last season, which made the youngster a transfer target for many Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Manchester United. However, Dorgu’s transfer fee of £30 million was a bit expensive for these Premier League clubs. There are also doubts over the youngster’s ability to play in the first team for a big club.

Chelsea are looking to sign young players as long-term prospects for the club. However, the Blues are still skeptical over the youngster’s ability. Chelsea can still end up signing Dorgu, given their transfer business of aggressively signing players. Marc Cucurella will be the first choice left-back this season. The Spanish defender made headlines this summer after winning the Euro 2024 with Spanish team. However, Cucurella has not justified the £62 million price tag for which the Blues bought him for.

Chukwuemeka given another chance by Enzo Maresca

Many players were excluded by Enzo Maresca from the club’s plans for the upcoming season. However, the new manager will be giving another to Carney Chukwuemeka. The 20-year-old midfielder will stay at Stamford Bridge, despite rumours for a potential transfer move. The midfielder was included in the pre-season squad. However, he is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League this season. His low wages and young age has earned the youngster another shot of making it to the first team. Renato Veiga is another promising player in the Chelsea squad. The players fits the tactical approach of the manager. However, Veiga is still not ready for the first team and needs time to develop.

Fans can expect the club to sign young players and develop them through a regular game time at Chelsea or loan moves to other clubs. The interest in players like Dorgu through their affiliate clubs such as Strasbourg, gives Chelsea a chance to take calculated risks on young players.
