Chelsea draw their match against Wrexham with a 2-2 score

Chelsea appointed their new manager before the start of this season, they signed Enzo Maresca and the Blues played their first game of their pre season, the match ended in 2-2 draw against Wrexham.

The goal from Christopher Nkunku in the first half was the goal that gave the lead to Chelsea at Levi’s stadium the place where the game was being played, but the lead only lasted for few minutes as the opponents scored the two goals very quickly in the second half by Luke Bolton and Jack Marriott and they put the Blues at the backfoot.

But before the match ends, the Chelsea player Lesley Ugochukwu equalized the score just ten minutes before the game ends, the goal ensured that the Blues first game end in the draw at their pre season in United States.

The Blues are looking to find some positives from the pre season

Chelsea named Robert Sanchez as the captain and he started first in the goal, Reece james as the right back, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile as the centre backs and Levi Colwill as the left back. This was the back line, the blues used in the first half.

Chelsea used Robert Sanchez in this game even after there are very strong news that the Blues are looking to sell the player in this summer transfer window.

The Chelsea manager used a different kind of strategy where he played James as the inverted full back and putting in the midfield, he was playing alongside other midfielders that were Romeo Lavia and Carne Chukwuemeka, and we saw Nkunku playing a much more advanced roles.

In this match we also saw Marc Guiu, the player that came to Chelsea from Barcelona, he was leading the attacking line along with the Chelsea’s academy graduate Tyrique George on the left side of the flank and Noni Madueke was playing on the right side.

Chelsea was looking good in the first half

The Blues got the first chance to score the goal was at fifth minute where the newcomer Guiu won a free kick just 20 yards out from the goal and James was the one who took the free kick and he almost scored the goal as the ball hit the post.

In the first half it was all Chelsea, they dominated the game as they were in control of the game, they has the highest possession in the first half. But they were struggling a lot to break the defence of Wrexham, they took some shots but was unable to score.

Chelsea were also strong on the set-pieces as they created some very dangerous and beautiful chances through set-pieces, Guiu playing close to Nkunku helped them to create some chances through set pieces as it was difficult for the defenders to mark both the strikers.

In the start of the game Wrexham did not get any chances to attack not did they tried in the starting few minutes but they got a chance to try to score the goal which was in the 29th minute, they almost scored the goal as James Mclean forced Chelsea goalkeeper Sanchez to make a beautiful save at the near post.

Chelsea will play their next game against Celtic on Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium, we will see there who the Blues plays at that game.
