Chelsea failed to grab Leny Yoro, as their rival Manchester United completed the signing of Leny Yoro from Lille. Premier League side Chelsea and Manchester United are chasing the young Fench defender Leny Yoro of Lille in the summer alongside Spanish side Real Madrid. But finally, it is Manchester United who completed the signing of the French youngster.
Well, as Chelsea failed to sign Leny Yoro this summer, the club will go into the transfer market for any other defender that they could borrow. Chelsea already spend over 100M this summer bringing some of the best young talents around the world to strengthen the Squad depth further. And they will keep pushing the limits to bring some new faces for their defensive line.
All Chelsea signing for the defensive work this summer transfer window
Thiago Silva already left the club as a free agent after the completion of the last season. So, the Blues are very much eager to strengthen the backline and at the same time want to bring in some young talents for the defenceline. Enzo Maresca’s side already completed the signing of former Fulham defender Tosin Adarabayo on a free transfer last month and young defender Renato Veiga from Basel. Another Chelsea defender Levi Colwill also come back to Chelsea after completing a year-long loan spell with another Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. But still, Chelsea could sign another new defender in the summer apart from these two.
Who is Chelsea’s new target?
According to The Chelsea Chronicle Chelsea are eager to sign Jorrel Hato from Dutch side Ajax. Jorrel Hato is just 18 years old and has shown great potential in his recent forms. In last year January, the Dutch defender made his senior debut with Ajax. The 18-year-old made a total of 61 appearances till now for Ajax and gave his best performance. Before the signing of the senior contract with Ajax, the 18-year-old was linked with many big European clubs but nothing actually happened. Well, this season is different as Chelsea are very much interested in bringing this young defender. Last season the Dutchman made 46 appearances for Ajax across all competitions. Last year in November Jorrel Hato was called for his national team duty for Euro 2024 Qualifying and eventually made his debut after coming off the bench in one of those qualifying matches.
After the takeover of BlueCo, Chelsea are always keen to bring young talents rather than spending money on experienced ones. Jorrel Hato is one of the best young talents available in Europe in the center defensive position right now. Spanish side Real Madrid and Premier League side Arsenal are also very much interested in signing Jorrel Hato in the summer. Well, the problem is that Jorrel Hato only signed another contract with Ajax in March this year, which will keep him in the Netherlands till 2028.
Other possible move for the Blues:
Apart from Jorrel Hato, Chelsea keep targeting Boca Juniors center defender Aaron Anselmino. No doubt the Blues could go for multiple options in the summer for another center defender, and these two defenders are under their zone right now. Chelsea are on the verge of signing the young 19-year-old defender Aaron Anselmino if everything goes as expected.
The Blues will start their Premier League campaign next month against last season’s Premier League Champion Manchester City. Before the start of the regular season, Chelsea want to sign all the required players as soon as possible.
