WHAT IS THE ISSUE WITH TODD BOEHLY?
The primary concern is about the owner Boehly with Vivid Seats, a ticket resale platform. His association with the company has been held against by many.
It is because the Vivid Seats has been reselling Premier League match tickets at inflated prices. The increase in the prices has raised question in the fans.
The Chelsea Supporters Trust (CST) has labeled this relationship as a “breach of trust“, emphasizing that such practices exploit loyal fans.
It is also seen that Chelsea’s performance has been deteriorating. So, this inconsistency has led to frustration in the fanbase. Despite an investment of ยฃ1 billion in brand new players, the team has struggled to find substance.
Moreover, with the managerial changes, with Enzo as their latest appointment, they have further added to the instability. So, fans are concerned about the lack of strategy and planning.
Reports indicate tensions between Boehly and Clearlake Capital regarding transfer policies, team performance, and stadium development plans. Such discord at the top levels of management has raised doubts about the club’s future direction and the ability of its leaders to work cohesively for the betterment of Chelsea FC.
