Chelsea handed over some praise from Leeds scorer for two of their star players

Chelsea locked horns with Leeds United in their FA Cup tie on Wednesday, beating the side 3-2. Now, Mateo Joseph, goalscorer for Leeds, has heaped some praise for two Blues’ stars.

The Championship side gave a fierce competition to Mauricio Pochettino’s men but were unable to pass through. A late goal from substitute Conor Gallagher saw the west London side advancing to the quarter-final of the competition. Joseph scored his first goals for the high-flying Leeds, sending the Shed End delirious on multiple occasions. Nevertheless, Cheslea showed some real grit towards the end of the game with their substitutions. Goals from Nikolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk and Gallagher were enough to proceed to the latter stage of the cup.

Leeds star lauds Chelsea stars Enzo-Caicedo after the game

Although the Championship side deserved to win the match, some individual brilliances from the Blues spoilt the party for them. The assists for two of the goals were particularly interesting, with them coming from sources who many feel don’t get enough of them, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. Speaking after the match, Joseph said

“I think we deserved the win personally. We faced a really strong opponent. They bought a lot of world class players, Enzo and Caicedo, the best in their positions and I’m really happy for our performance here.”

Owing to the mammoth price paid for the duo, the media is critical for them not living upto the levels. It seems a bit too early to give a verdict on the duo especially for Caicedo. The Ecuadorian has started to improve from the past few fixtures with his performance against Leeds better than Carabao final.

Mauricio Pochettino did hint that he would ideally like to rest either of the midfield pair at some point. However he doesn’t feel like he has the options fit and healthy to do so at this stage.
