Thomas Tuchel has been an admirer of Jules Kounde and wants to make him his second signing at Chelsea. Chelsea were waiting to agree a transfer for Kurt Zouma before making a move for Jules Kounde.
West Ham have shown interest in the French centre back and want to sign him. Although they have shown interest reports have been suggesting that they couldn’t agree with Kurt Zouma’s wage demands.
Fabrizio Romano has given another update in the Kounde deal that the English side ‘wanted to proceed with the final official bid to complete the deal’.
Meanwhile, The Hammers are not willing to pay £100,000-per-week to Kurt Zouma. Reports suggest that the involvement of multiple agents has made this deal complicated. Jules Kounde has been Julen Lopetegui’s first choice center back along with Diego Carlos. The 22-year-old defender has made 91 appearances for Sevilla since making his debut. He was also a part of the French squad for Euro 2020 this summer.
Moreover, Chelsea also want to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid. The Blues are willing to bring the Spain midfielder on a season long loan. Meanwhile Manchester United are also interested in signing Saul. But, the Blues are ahead of their rivals Manchester United in the race to sign the Spaniard.
According to a report from Football London, Kurt Zouma will undergo his West Ham medical in Paris. West Ham and Chelsea have settled for a £25m fee for Zouma. Meanwhile, the arrival of Zouma to West Ham will eventually accelerate the Jules Kounde to Chelsea deal. The report further suggests that Kurt Zouma had to lower his wage demand so that the deal does not collapse.
Moreover, if Chelsea sign Saul it will create problems for the other Chelsea midfielders. Thomas Tuchel is very happy with his current midfield options but is keen to add another huge star.
