Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk in the January transfer window. Hence, the club presented him to Stamford Bridge during half-time against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal were leading the race to sign him for most of the time. However, the Blues moved fast and offered more money to Shakhtar and the player to quickly seal the transfer.

CHELSEA AND MYKHAYLO MUDRYK FULL TRANSFER STORY

Chelsea confirmed the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk before the game against Crystal Palace. During half-time, Mudryk was presented to the Stamford Bridge crowd with a Ukrainian flag. The Blues also won the game in the second half through the header of Kai Havertz. Hence, it turned out to be a brilliant day for the fans. However, for the owners, it was a very last hectic day. A number of reports claim that the owners flew to Turkey to negotiate a quick deal for the Ukrainian winger.

The report also claims that Chelsea needed only one bid to seal the transfer of Mykhaylo Mudryk. They also have increased his wages significantly. Shakhtar Donetsk also received 100 million for his transfer. Hence, the transfer benefitted all the parties involved. The report also claims that Shakhtar will receive 70 million as a fixed transfer fee. Whereas, the rest of the transfer fee are add-ons. The winger has signed a 7.5 million year contract with the club. Hence, they also took care of Financial Fair Play policy.

ARSENAL HAVE NOW MOVED TO OTHER TRANSFER TARGETS

According to reports, Arsenal are already looking for different alternatives after losing Mudryk signing of Chelsea. The report also claims that a number of agents have offered their clients to the Gunners. One of them is Brighton’s Leonardo Trossard. It also claims that Chelsea were also offered the chance to sign the Belgian international. However, the Blues are not interested in signing him at the moment. Hence, the Gunners and Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Leonardo Trossard.

Mikel Arteta also spoke on Mudryk signing for Chelsea and not Arsenal. He said,

“We have excellent players. We want to improve our squad in this transfer window and when I say we, myself, the coaching staff, the staff, the players, the board, and ownership. We are all in this together, but we will do the deals that we can do and that we believe is right for the football club.

Hence, it is clear that Arsenal will not get involved in the bidding and overspend on any player.

Hence, Chelsea can now hope that their big investment in Mudryk helps them qualify for the Europa League or the Champions League. It is because this squad is too good for the conference league. The Blues will also hope that they can make more signings in January. It is because the Blues want to sign at least 2 more players before the end of the January transfer window.
