Chelsea have been reportedly offered the chance to sign Thilo Kehrer from PSG. However, the Blues have rejected the chance to sign him.
This is after they are finding it difficult to sign center-backs this summer transfer window. Thomas Tuchel wants at least one center-back signed in the transfer window.
CHELSEA HAVE ALREADY LOST OUT ON NORDI MUKIELE AND JULES KOUNDE
The Blues were in pole position to sign Jules Kounde. However, Barcelona managed to hijack the bid and sign him. Sevilla will reportedly receive a lower transfer fee from Barca. However, the French defender was keen on joining Barca after talking to head coach Xavi. Chelsea were reportedly very frustrated after they were leading the race to sign the defender for so long.
After losing the race, they tried to sign Nordi Mukiele from RB Leipzig. However, it was too late. The agents of the player and the player himself had committed to join PSG. Many reports suggested that the Blues were even offering to include Timo Werner to sweeten the deal. However, the efforts went in vain. Hence, Chelsea are back to square to square one in the transfer market.
THILO KEHRER TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
PSG have now provided Thomas Tuchel a chance to sign a center-back. The French giants offered Thilo Kehrer on a permanent deal. However, Thomas Tuchel and Co rejected the proposal very swiftly. Thilo Kehrer has recently found himself out of favor at PSG. Both parties are very keen for the defender to move to a new club.
Although, the new club won’t be Chelsea. Kehrer is one of the surplus players at the French club. They are also trying to move on Kurzawa, Idrissa Gueye and Abdou Diallo. However, the Blues are not interested in any of these players.Thomas Tuchel will now look elsewhere to find a left-sided center-back. He is looking to slot the new signing in defense along with another new signing Kalidou Koulibaly.
Thomas Tuchel has admitted he is frustrated by the lack of movement in recent weeks in creation to incomings. The club are also finding it difficult to sell the players. They are also in two minds whether to sell their club captain Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona after the Kounde saga.
