Chelsea are trying to work on a deal with Napoli that might see two of their players go in exchange for striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian star has been Chelsea’s main target for a while now, and word has it he is open to making a move to Stamford Bridge. But getting him on board has not been easy because of his huge £110 million release clause, which Napoli had been dead set on getting in full.
To cut the cost, Chelsea are resorting to all kinds of tactics such as using Napoli’s new boss Antonio Conte’s fondness for Romelu Lukaku, who is no longer wanted at Stamford Bridge. Early reports hinted that Chelsea put forward Lukaku plus some cash for Osimhen, but Napoli said no to this offer. The Sun claims Conte wants to get two Chelsea players in exchange for him – Lukaku and young Italian midfielder, Cesare Casadei.
Chelsea to Give Two Players in Swap Deal
Napoli are asking for £39 million plus Lukaku and Casadei, who Chelsea bought for £97.5 million and £17 million. Talks between the clubs are moving forward, with Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, now in London to work on a possible deal. Manna is also looking into other transfer options such as deals for Brighton’s Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay.
Even with the hefty price tag, Chelsea seem ready to pay what Napoli wants putting them ahead in the race to sign Osimhen. PSG also want him, but Chelsea seem to be in the lead. This deal, if it goes through, would mean a big money loss for Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boehly. The two players whom Chelsea are offering in exchange have cost the club £114.5 million over the last three years. But if Osimhen is worth £110 million, the club might still think this deal makes sense.
Word has it that Napoli might lower their price tag to £86 million to get clubs to be willing to approach the striker. Chelsea’s bosses won’t mind spending this much if Osimhen can bring his A-game from Napoli to the Premier League. The 25-year-old forward played a crucial part in Napoli’s Serie A title win in the 2022/23 season scoring 26 goals in 32 games, and netting 15 times in 25 matches the following season. His goal-scoring ability has made him one of the top strikers in Europe making him an ideal choice to help Chelsea secure a position in the top four.

Osimhen Could Be What Chelsea Need
Osimhen joining Chelsea could give their offense a real lift. His goal-scoring talent and high-energy playing style might be what Chelsea need to revitalize their attack and compete for top positions again. If he can replicate similar stats at Stamford Bridge, fans will be more than glad to move past the transfer fee issues and focus on his on-field contributions to the team.
Seen as one of the best forwards in the game, Osimhen’s possible switch to Chelsea would tell their Premier League rivals they mean business. With new boss Enzo Maresca at the helm, Chelsea have already boosted several positions, but now they’re firm on getting a top-notch striker.
The next few days will shape Chelsea’s path forward. Bringing in a player like Osimhen wouldn’t just show how ambitious the club is, and it could kick off a fresh chapter under Maresca’s guidance. All this points to a thrilling season coming up for Chelsea and their fans.
