Chelsea injury updates as Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia will miss the away game to Brentford in the PL on the weekend.
Latest Chelsea injury updates
Chelsea will miss Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana against Brentford on Sunday. Enzo Maresca’s side have been in an injury crisis. They are currently at fourth in the points table in the Premier League. They will be fighting for the UEFA Champions League spot for the next season.
Lavia and Fofana have been in the first team since the start of the season. But, both of the players have missed a lot of games for the Blues due to injuries.
After the 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the west London side moved up to fourth place in the PL. There are eight matches still to play in this top-flight campaign.
The France international had been out for a long time due to a muscle injury. Since his return, he has just played in two matches. He was not part of the squad that faced the Spurs as well earlier this week.
Since December, Lavia has only featured in two games. He also picked up a blow while recovering through his hamstring issue. In spite of just having 13 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, he still is in the club’s future plans.
Brentford will take on the Blues at home
The Thomas Frank’s side are currently sitting on 11th place in the league table. There is 11 point gap between the 4th and 11th placed teams.
In the start of the season, the Bees had a great home record in the league. In their first eight fixtures at home, they have won seven times and drawn one time. However since December, they have not earned a PL win at the Brentford Community Stadium.
