There has been a lot happening with Chelsea at the moment. After the departure of Mauricio Pochettino, Italian manager Enzo Maresca seems to lead Chelsea in the next season. Maresca was crowned Championship champion with Leicester helping them to achieve success. Along with Maresca, the blues want to bring another man from Championship. According to reports, Chelsea are interested to sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.
Chelsea can be soon seen announcing their new manager. Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea parted ways only after one year. The Argentine made it very clear that he also had say in the decesion of his departure. Reports say that Pochettino may also be disappointed due to not able to speak when it comes to transfers.
The Blues are now very close to welcome 44 year old Italian manager. Enzo Maresca who led Leicester to Premier League seems to leave King Power Stadium. Under the new management Chelsea will hope to do well in all competitions next season. Despite finishing 6th, Chelsea missed the Europa league spot due to Manchester City’s defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup final. In the upcoming season the blues will hope to achieve atleast a top 4 finish along with some silverware.
Ever since Todd Boehly took over he has spent more than £1 billion. Chelsea have failed to register sufficient profit and may face consequences if they don’t get their books clean soon. Despite the situation, Chelsea have been linked with various superstars across the Europe. Recently the reports show that the blues may be interested in signing Leeds United superstar Crysencio Summerville.
Chelsea to welcome Crysencio Summerville
Crysencio Summerville had an amazing season in the Championship for Leeds United. The 22 year old winger was one of the most consistent players in the League. Due to his young age and awesome performances Summerville has caught eyes of many big clubs. Leeds United have failed to achieve promotion and this may force them to miss out on Dutch superstar.
According to HITC, Chelsea were interested to sign Summerville in April. However Leeds were hoping not to lose Summerville as they setting their eyes back on Premier League. Unfortunetly Leeds have lost the promotion play off against Southampton and now will stay in Championship. This may force the club to lose their 22 year old superstar with many top clubs keen to sign him.
Chelsea have currently signed many players who are young than 25 years. Summerville could be the latest addition and may even be seen gaining a place as regular starter if he continues his recent form. Along with Chelsea, some of other top Premier League clubs could also join the race for him. Recently Liverpool were linked to bring the dutch star under their new dutch manager.
How good is Crysencio Summerville
Summerville started his youth career at Feyenoord in 2008. However he didn’t get his chance to play for Feyenoord’s senior team as he was loaned out by the club for two consecutive season. Summerville’s breakthrough season came when he joined Leeds United in 2020. He made his Leeds debut in Premier League in September 2021. Ever since, Summerville has been an important player for Leeds.
In 2023-24 season Summerville has been unstoppable. The Dutch star has scored 21 goals along with providing 10 assists in the 49 appearances he made. Due to this amazing performances, Summerville has been named as Championship player of the season along with earning his spot in the Championship team of the season. The Dutch star will hope to continue this form but now in Premier League. As per now Chelsea and Liverpool seem to be strong contenders to go after him once transfer window opens.
