Chelsea are planning to sell their goalkeeper Kepa and Mendy as the manager has eyes set on another goalkeeper. Kepa joined Chelsea back in 2018 for a then-record transfer fee. But the goalkeeper struggles with self-confidence after a string of mistakes. Mendy was signed back in 2020 by Frank Lampard, the Senegal international was brilliant in the starting at Stamford Bridge but have recently struggled with consistency. Mendy had lost his starting goalkeeper position to Kepa after his injury, the new Chelsea manager seems to put his faith in Kepa as of now. Even with that, the Chelsea manager is not convinced that either of the two goalkeepers could be there for the long run.

Chelsea plans on selling their goalkeeper Kepa and Mendy

Graham Potter looks to sell the goalkeeping duo soon. The Englishman wishes to implement his style of football at the club, for which he looks to bring on a new goalkeeper to Chelsea. According to the Sun, the Chelsea Manager looks to cash in by selling both players which will fund his wishes for a new goalkeeper. Chelsea are in dire need of a change and have a lot of prospects to invest in. The idea of them trying to cash in from the goalkeeper doesn’t seem bizarre. If the club does end up earning some cash from the goalkeeping duo it would mean that Potter’s summer transfer budget will remain relatively untouched.

Todd Boehly will be giving him a budget for two central midfielders, a new winger, and a striker. They would be hoping to sign potential players in all these positions. As of now Kepa still has got two-and-half years of his contract that he made with the club back in 2018.
