Chelsea make massive profit from player sales

The Blues have changed their transfer strategy. This time Chelsea have received £94.5 million from the overall player sales.

Chelsea’s transfer strategy

Since the takeover of Clearlake Capital the club is being reconstructed from the core. Several managerial appointments, change in players and coaching staffs clearly indicate that the Blues are in a transition period. In this time Chelsea need money because they want to bring in players who can stabilize the dressing room with their master class performances.

This time Chelsea have raised almost £94.5 million because they have sold Omari Hutchinson to Ipswitch Town for £22m, Ian Maatsen to Aston Villa for £37.5 and Lewis Hall to Newcastle United for £35m. This will certainly help them in their transfer activities. Chelsea bought Omari Hutchinson when he was playing for Arsenal under 21 team. In Chelsea he made his first debut against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. He didn’t made any impact in the first eleven. After a season, the Blues are selling him to a championship side. On the other hand the Blues have always dreamt about signing world class Nigerian striker Victor Oshimhen. He will certainly cost an astronomical amount of money. Earlier he had a release clause of £113m. Now Napoli have announced that Oshimhen has agreed to leave the club. So, teams like Chelsea, Manchester United are trying to lure the striker. The fund which they have generated from player sales will certainly help to bring in their dream striker.

Chelsea have already signed some decent players which includes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman. If they can add Victor Oshimhen to this squad, it will make a formidable attacking front line which will have Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer on both wings and Victor Oshimhen at the number nine position.

Why the Blues are raising money?

The Premier League governing body informed Chelsea that they have to raise money within a stipulated time. If they fail to do it they will face the consequences for breaching PSR rule. The punishments include point deduction, relegation. Other clubs like Manchester City, Everton, Nottingham forest are also struggling in this same condition. In previous transfer window Chelsea invested billions of pounds for bringing in new players. According to Financial Fair play rule a club can invest a fixed amount of money for transfer moves. Chelsea have spent more than the maximum limit.

Enzo Maresca’s arrival at Chelsea

The new managerial appointment of Enzo Maresca has impacted the Blues from core. According to it is being said that Chelsea under 21 coach Mark Robinson has left the club. He has taken the responsibility to manage Burton Albion. Chelsea academy graduate Charlie Webster has also joined Robinson’s Burton Albion squad on a permanent deal.
