Chelsea are spending money fluently in this summer transfer window and making more signings as much as possible. The Blues already completed the signings of seven new players including Caleb Wiley, Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, Estevao, and Tosin Adarabioyo. So, till now Chelsea signed players for all sorts of positions except the goalkeeper position. But now it looks like their next target is a new goalkeeper for Chelsea.
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to leave the Club this summer. But the Blues are not interested in keeping the 29-year-old and Kepa is also likely to leave the club in the summer. So, the club are looking for a goalkeeper.
Last season Robert Sanchez joined the Blues and last season from Premier League side Brighton as the club’s main goalkeeper. But the 26-year-old failed to impress then-Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino. So, the Spaniard only made 21 appearances last season across all competitions and 16 in the premier league. In his 16 appearances in the Premier League last season, he conceded 25 goals and kept only 3 clean sheets. Across all competitions, the Spaniard only managed to keep 5 clean sheets.
Well, the second of the last season was Djordje Petrovic’s show, as Chelsea chose to work with the 24-year-old Serbian rather than Robert Sanchez. Same as Sanchez, Petrovic also joined Chelsea only last season. Although Sanchez started the season as the Blues’ main number one, as the season progressed Petrovic became the main man for the goalkeeper position. The Serbian made 31 appearances last season across all competitions last season. In the Premier League Petrovic appeared 23 times last season, conceded 38 goals, and kept 5 clean sheets. So, Petrovic performance is slightly better than Robert Sanchez’s but not so good. So, Chelsea are eager to sign a player who is better than these two and could start all the Chelsea games in the upcoming season.
Filip Jorgensen of Villarreal is Chelsea’s primary target for the goalkeeper position for the upcoming seasons. Chelsea already. The Blues are set to sign the 22-year-old, as the Club already offered a transfer fee of more than 20M for Filip Jorgensen. Chelsea are very confident that they will be able to sign him. Filip Jorgensen also agreed to join Chelsea and is very excited about this move.
Chelsea’s boss believed that Jorgensen would be the perfect number one for Chelsea. The Danish goalkeeper made 36 appearances in La Liga last season for Villarreal, conceded 63 goals, and kept 6 clean sheets. Although Filip Jorgensen did not have an outstanding season with Villarreal but still his performance was still better than Robert Sanchez’s and Petrovic’s. Enzo Maresca believed that Filip Jorgensen’s move to Chelsea would change his playing style and he could improve himself a lot.

Apart from Filip Jorgensen, some others move might happen this summer. Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira might join Chelsea, but all depends on Conor Gallagher’s future with the Blues. Enzo Maresca’s side continues spending money on young talents, as the club now chasing young 16-year-old Brazilian attacking midfielder Gabriel Mec. As new players are coming into the team, players like Trevoh Chalobah, and Romelu Lukaku could leave the club. Last week Malang Sarr left Chelsea after terminating his contract with the club and joined RC Lens.
Chelsea started their pre-season campaign with a draw against Wrexham, new signing Marc Guiu was the man of the match. Up next Enzo Maresca’s side will meet Celtic in their next friendlies.
