Chelsea player N’Golo Kante is out for ‘several weeks’

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is set to miss out on “several weeks” worth of game time. This is because he has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury. This is according to a report by L’Equipe which has stated that as things stand, it looks .ikely that he will miss out on the World Cup in November as well. This news comes as a major blow to Chelsea as Kante was up and training with the first team a few days back. He looked well on his path to recovery. However, a “reaction in training” ensured that his first start since August is delayed.

Chelsea are in a tough spot now. Two important players, Reece James and Kante are on the sidelines due to injuries. Kante’s injury is a serious problem for Chelsea. N’Golo Kante is one of the best midfielders on the pitch when he is fit. However, his injury concerns remain the main talking point when the subject of his contract extension is brought up. Chelsea have an upper hand now when it comes to contract negotiations due to his injury. Kante hasn’t played a single game since August. However, Chelsea haven’t faltered despite missing their star player. The Chelsea midfield looks in good hands under Graham Potter. His utilization of Jorginhio and Kovacic in the double pivot is paying off. Ruben Loftus-Cheek has come into his own under Graham Potter. Mason Mount has performed brilliantly in the last few games too.

What the Chelsea manager said about Kante

Chelsea takes on Aston Villa in their next match on Sunday. Manager Graham Potter gave us an update about the injuries in the squad in the pre-match press conference. Speaking about N’Golo Kante, he said:

“Again he’s due to see a consultant at the weekend. It’s a setback so it’s not good news. But anything other than that, at this stage I can’t give you any more.”
