Chelsea preparing to get rid of at least seven players after this season

Todd Boehly have decided to overturn the current Chelsea squad rather than sacking Graham Potter. This has made at least seven players fighting for their place in the club. As of now, things are looking good for Chelsea. They have lost three games in a row. They have also been knocked out of two domestic cups. Chelsea are now currently sitting 10th in the Premier League table. They are currently 10 points off from the Champions League spot. Graham Potter is under a lot of pressure after their disastrous performance this season. Despite just joining the club in September, Potter have already found himself in deep trouble with the team’s performance. However, reports claim that Todd Boehly is planning on backing Graham Potter. Instead, the owner is planning on cutting ties with several Chelsea players from the current squad.

Chelsea to sever ties with some players from the current squad

Graham Potter has been assured by the Chelsea owners about his job at Stamford Bridge. Todd Boehly have a new strategy to improve Chelsea. Things have changed at Stamford Bridge since Roman Abramovich’s time. The Russian had often sided with his players and hence was ruthless with his managers. Boehly on the other hand wants to end the players’ power at Stamford Bridge. As per reports, Chelsea are considering to terminate Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Kai Havertz, Jorginho, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contracts. Between all of them, they all cost a total of about £ 270 million with add-ons. Therefore Chelsea could sever relationships with some of these players as some of them have failed to live up to the expectations. Chelsea could look to move some of these players maybe this January itself.

Chelsea are open to offers to for Hakim Ziyech this January transfer window. However, his injury problem have forced the club to keep him till the summer. If the Blues’ were to convert the Joao Felix loan deal to a permanent deal, they would have to part ways with some of these players. Whereas some other big names will be at the end of their contracts this season. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are some of those whose contract ends this season.
