Chelsea have reached the Club World Cup final only for the second time in their history. They met Al-Hilal in the semi-final and were able to win with a goal scored by Lukaku. The lead came in the 32nd minute as a failed clearance by the Al-Hilal defender let Lukaku score from within the 6-yard box.

The Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal did not look as threatening as Chelsea. However, they created several good chances in the final minutes of the game but failed to convert them. Chelsea had also hit the post shortly after the break but were unable to carry forward their good performance from the first half into the second half.

Chelsea did dominate the whole game but had some scary moments at the back. The result might have been different if Al-Hilal took their chances. Although Lukaku scored the goal, he still must do a few improvements to finish more chances. He was unable to reach the ball and also failed to get a touch on the ball for a goal.

Chelsea have lost one Club World Cup final against Corinthians in 2012. Since then, no Champions League holder has lost the Club World Cup. They will now meet another Brazilian side Palmeiras in the final. However, this time Chelsea are strong favorites to win the final and add the missing trophy to their cabinet.

What Chelsea should do in order to win the Club World Cup for the first time?

Chelsea have already lost one Club World Cup final in 2012 and that must have hurt the players and the fans a lot. To avoid that feeling of disappointment and regret again, Chelsea must take every step to win the CWC. They must not let the fear of losing again take over them and be focused to get the desired result.

No team ever reaches the final with pure luck and Palmeiras has also done their work to reach where they have. Chelsea must not underestimate their opponents as overconfidence at this point can be their worst enemy. The Chelsea players know their job well and should use the momentum they got from the semi-final win over Al-Hilal.

Thomas Tuchel has excelled in knockout stages and has led Chelsea to the finals of every club competition. The stakes are higher as this could be the first time that Chelsea could lift the CWC in their history. With his tactical expertise and the undeniable ability of his players they could achieve what they want. However, they have to be fully focused on their job and only celebrate after their victory.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta was there when Chelsea lost the Club World Cup final in 2012. He could help the younger players to understand the importance of it and is also the one player who deserves the trophy more. He will give it his all to win the match which will indirectly have an influence on his teammates to perform better. The final will take place on 12th February at 10:00 pm IST as the whole world will be watching.
