Chelsea ready to listen to offers for Tammy Abraham

Chelsea’s struggles in front of the goal has led to them battling out for survival in top four of the league in order to qualify for Champions League. A complete striker overhaul is expected at the club, with clutch Olivier Giroud to move somewhere else for regular game time. His contract expires at the end of the season.

Tammy Abraham was Chelsea’s top scorer last campaign and leads the way again this term despite barely featuring in recent months. Many Chelsea fans believe Abraham should get more game-time to prove his worth and that it would be a mistake if they let a academy talent leave so easily.

Rio Ferdinand on Chelsea’s Academy talent Tammy Abraham

Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand agrees and says

A young player, does he get the time that a Timo Werner, new signing gets when they come in?

Tammy wouldn’t get the time Timo gets.

He [Werner] scored at the weekend but he missed a sitter at the weekend. He missed another tonight.

Fans have called for Tuchel to start Abraham over Werner. They demand he show the same belief and faith he showed to Werner amongst interests from Leicester City and West Ham.

At the moment the Blues have three strikers on the books, misfiring Timo Werner, Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud. They want to bring another striker with Haaland in their sights and would require funds to do so. Chelsea would offload Tammy Abraham if they get offers north of £40 million.

The two departures would free up around £200,000-a-week on the wage bill. Chelsea have also added a £28 million buy clause for Fikayo Tomori who’s on loan at Ac Milan. Inter are also interested for third choice left back Emerson whom Tuchel has deemed surplus to requirements. They also have Michy Batshuayi on loan at Crystal Palace

All this could add up and make a good amount for the club to attract elite strikers with the promise of Champions League.
