Chelsea Set to Extend Seven-Year Contract Offer to World-Class Player Eyeing Summer Move

One of Chelsea’s top targets may be about to receive a pay increase and an incredibly long contract. According to CaughtOffside, The Blues are willing to offer Victor Osimhen of Napoli, a 7-year-contract.

The same source states that Osimhen wants to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Didier Drogba. Also, he is more interested in moving to Chelsea than to other club. Osimhen’s salary is also reportedly going to increase at Chelsea.

Osimhen and Napoli, who are currently ninth in the Serie A standings, have had a difficult season. However for them, everything went according to plan last season, with the club winning their first Scudetto since 1990. Even for Osimhen, it was an incredible season. In 32 league games, the 25-year-old scored an amazing 26 goals, helping Napoli win the title.

Victor Osimhen might agree to a seven-year deal with Chelsea

Since being acquired by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, Chelsea have made it a practice to offer extremely long contracts to new signings, so the aforementioned is not surprising. However, they will be unable to amortize Osimhen’s transfer fee over a period of more than five years as UEFA and The Premier League closed a contractual loophole that the club had been taking advantage of.

Kylian Mbappe is going to leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the current campaign. This suggests that Paris Saint-Germain may challenge Chelsea for Osimhen’s signature. The Athletic reports that PSG have identified the Nigerian as a possible replacement for Mbappe.

Even though Chelsea are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League the following season and despite PSG’s interest, they still appear to be in the lead for Osimhen’s signature. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Nigerian has already made up his mind to sign with Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
