Chelsea summer signing could make his first start for the club

Chelsea signed more than ten new players in the summer transfer window. After signing the new manager Enzo Maresca, the Blues signed players according to the tactics and the liking of the manager. One of the players that Chelsea signed is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who joined from the newly promoted Premier League side, Leicester City. Since joining the club, the English midfielder is yet to make his first Chelsea start. However, that might break as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could be in the starting line against Liverpool this weekend.

Chelsea signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City for a transfer fee of around ยฃ30m, after signing a six-year contract until 2030. Both Kiernan and new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca know each other very well. Kiernan played under Enzo Maresca during his time at Leicester City. That’s why Chelsea signed him in the summer. However, the 26-year-old is yet to make his first Chelsea start in the Premier League. Although he made three appearances in the Premier League, all of them are coming off the bench. Kiernan made seven appearances since his joining the Blues across all competitions and also scored one goal.

However, Kiernan could make his first Chelsea start against Liverpool. The Blues are going to face Liverpool in their next Premier League fixtures this weekend. With lots of players unavailable due to injury and the international break, Enzo Maresca could give Kiernan a chance in the starting lineup. Some of the first team players including Enzo Fernandez. Moises Caicedo and more were not involved in the preparation for the match against Liverpool. Meanwhile, Kiernan was training with the rest of the team who were not involved in the international break and getting instructions from the Italian manager.

As most of the first-team players are not in the training period for the match against Liverpool, Maresca could certainly go for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for the Liverpool game. The 26-year-old played the whole 90 minutes for Chelsea against Gent in the UEFA Conference League and also scored a goal. So, as Kiernan is giving his best on the field, Maresca could certainly go with him. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had a great last season with Leicester City, made 49 appearances, scored 12 goals, and managed to keep the rating of 7.9 throughout the season. The English midfielder needs that time and sufficient playing time to show his full talent once again.
