Chelsea has reportedly prioritized the signing of another Premier League rival player over Cristiano Ronaldo. Todd Boehly signed a number of players from other Premier League clubs over the summer and it looks like he is going to continue it. Chelsea have been told to prioritize the signing of Harry Kane from their rival London club Tottenham over Cristiano Ronaldo signing. The player has naturally been linked with the richest clubs in the world. One of them being Chelsea after Boehly was keen to sign him this summer when Thomas Tuchel stood firmly against it.

Chelsea to choose someone else over Ronaldo

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, the move remains complicated, as Chelsea are prioritizing other players over Cristiano Ronaldo. While the American is keen to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, he is told to focus more on Harry Kane by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. While speaking to Grosvenor Casinos, the former player told,

“I would have done Ronaldo for Chelsea in the summer, for one year, but obviously now I think the priorities are bigger in the summer, I would try to persuade Kane to come. That would be a very controversial move, but surely he’s going to want to win things. Surely he knows he’s not going to win with Spurs.”

He further went on,

“Surely, he’s not enjoying the way he is playing at the moment and where he’s playing. I know they’re all doing the shift for the team, but the majority of the time, when they don’t have the ball, he’s 10 meters away from his own box. You know, so surely he’s not going to want to be playing like that for the next 3-4 years. You know, surely he would want to be with the club that is going to go for it and is going to try to win trophies or are going to be closer to winning the trophies, so for me, they should go for him.”

According to Calcio Mercato Web, Graham Potter seems to be a huge fan of the England striker. He can try to bring him to Stamford Bridge this transfer window.
