Chelsea Transfer News

Chelsea‘s spending on players yet to make their debut for the club exceeds £200 million. This forms part of an upper of £1.5 billion, which has already been activated under Clearlake Capital-Todd Boehly.

Football.london learned that a combined deal for Dario Essugo and Geovany Quenda had been settled at £59 million for Sporting CP. The latter would not join Chelsea until the summer of 2026. Because of their young age-and new FIFA restrictions-Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian could only be officially welcomed until their 18th birthday.

Mike Penders,19, he has been allowed to play the season at Genk in Belgium in the interest of his development. Although he has completed two pre-seasons with the English side, Andrey Santos is already on three separate loans since January 2023. He will return later this year after taking off at RC Strasbourg for over 12 months. He is one of the brightest young midfield talents in the world.

Paez is another great youngster whose growth has been similar to that of Santos. He came to the Blues from Independiente del Valle back in his homeland Ecuador for £8 million. Essugo would have already cost the Blues up to £18 million.

Denner Evangelista is pending announcement but will surely join upon turning 18. The initial would be £8 million, with a possible £3million in bonuses. He is yet to appear on a senior stage for Corinthians where he plays as a left-back.

Aaron Anselmino, a name more familiar to one, remains strangely put on a loan recall from Boca Juniors. The 19-year-old Argentine player was brought over for £15 million from his debut club last summer.

Chelsea Football Club: The Present and the Future

The west London side seem to have staked their colors with a huge number of talents. However, the success or failure of most of these players is likely to take years to play out.

In the meantime, the spending adds only more pressure and scrutiny. The business the Blues are doing with Enzo Maresca‘s first team is surely wild.

That separates two very distinct pictures of the London club as it is today and as planned for tomorrow. One is a young, talented, and largely unexperienced outfit of players based on promise. And the other, an expensive group of just slightly older players learning on the job in Premier League football.
