Chelsea vs Leicester City: Match preview and Predicted line-ups

Chelsea Leicester, Six Sports

Chelsea faces Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, three days after their FA-cup final where Leicester came out front through a Tielemans’s long ranger goal. Thomas Tuchel is going to tell his team to treat this game as another final. Chelsea has a point to prove now and they’re going to come after Leicester City with all their arsenal (mind the pun).

Their Champions League hopes are tired to a thread now. All their future planings of signing elite players depend on them securing UCL qualification. No player like Haaland, Kane, or Verratti would even consider playing in the Europa League.

Leicester head into this fixture in hot form, winning their last two games against Chelsea itself and Manchester United. While the Blues have lost their last two games.

Leicester currently sits third in the table on 66 points. The Blues are in fourth with 64 points, and Liverpool is fifth with 63 points. Leicester is looking to complete their first league double over Chelsea since the 2000-01 campaign.

Mateo Kovacic and Andreas Christensen could return to the match at Stamford Bridge. Kovacic’s absence has been felt with their back-to-back defeats.

He has been out of action with a hamstring problem and failed to recover before the cup final. Christensen has been dealing with a leg tendon issue but could return in defence.

Leicester will be without defender Jonny Evans, who limped off during the final in the first half and was replaced by Marc Albrighton.

Cengiz Under is a major doubt while James Justin and Harvey Barnes both are long absentees.

Chelsea XI: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Thiago, Rudiger; James, Kante, Kovacic, Chilwell; Pulisic, Mount; Havertz.

Leicester City XISchmeichel; Castagne, Fofana, Soyuncu, L.Thomas; Ndidi, Tielemans, Perez, Albrighton; Vardy, Iheanacho.

Taking into account the raw emotions, player’s quench for revenge, and the presence of 8000 home fans we predict Chelsea to win 3-0 against Leicester City. Mason Mount to open the scoring.
