Chelsea will try to sign this midfielder in the next season

Chelsea will try and sign Denzel Dumfries in the January transfer window. The Dutchman has had a stellar season with Inter Milan the last season. With each good performance, it looks more and more likely that Chelsea and other big clubs in the League will try and sign him in the next window. New manager Graham Potter feels that Dumfries will be a perfect fit for the team he wants to build.

Denzel Dumfries’ determination and work rate is the reason why he is where he is. He is one of the most hard-working players when he is on the pitch. He has good vision and the technical knowledge to implement his vision on the pitch. Moreover, his strength and aggressiveness make him a perfect fit for Premier League. Now, according to Corriere Dello Sport, Chelsea will revisit this deal in January.

Chelsea wants to sign Dumfries and loan him to Inter Milan

According to the report by Corriere Dello Sport, following the conclusion of the deal for Casadei, Inter Milan and Chelsea remained in contact. This was because Inter Milan wanted to sign Trevoh Chalobah to reinforce the defense. Moreover, Chelsea too were trying to complete a deal for Dumfries in the window. However, Inter were reluctant to let one of their best players leave the club. This was because it would hurt their chances of winning the Scudetto. Chelsea wanted to complete the purchase and let Dumfries play on loan at Milan. However, the deal fell through because of complications in the deal for Wesley Fofana.

Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Stamford Bridge means that there is a possibility of Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea. Chelsea paid a whopping €115m for Romelu Lukaku last season. However, lack of consistency and fallout with manager Thomas Tuchel meant Lukaku left Stamford Bridge on loan to Inter Milan.
