Manchester United are eyeing a move for 26-year-old Chelsea star in January. The Red Devils will be having Ruben Amorim as their new manager. They did not enjoy a good star to the season. As of now, they are 13th on the Premier League table. To make matters worse, they have managed to win only once in the UEL so far. The dismissal of Erik Ten Hag did do some good for them. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy would be unbeaten in his 4 games in-charge. Now, the Red Devils are planning to pick up the pace once again under the new manager. So we could see them making some moves in the upcoming transfer window. As such they are willing to sign Christopher Nkunku in January.
Christopher Nkunku wants to leave
Manchester United have a big boost for signing the Chelsea star. Firstly, the 26-year-old wishes to leave himself. He is not happy with the playing time. At the same time, teamtalk reports that the Red Devils also have the finances to make the move happen. New manager Ruben Amorim will have around £60 million to spend in January. Christopher Nkunku has been a little unlucky in London. He would suffer due to injuries for the most of his first season. And now, he has to warm up the bench due to in-form Nicolas Jackson. But he is not wrong to look for a move away. Especially considering the fact that he could be back to his best with regular back time. He is a world-class player after all.
Chelsea give ‘green light’ to Manchester United
The Blues did have to make an investment to sign the Christopher Nkunku. We can’t really say that they have managed to get a proper return yet. The 26-year-old has been good for them this season. But he simply isn’t playing enough. But it was always going to be a question whether the Blues would allow him to join a rival team. As per telegraph, Todd Boehly approves the move as long as Manchester United pay £52 million for the Chelsea star. It will be interesting to see if the move goes through. After all, we might see the 26-year-old starting for the first team directly in place of Rasmus Hojlund.
