Chelsea yet to enter negotiation with Juventus for Chiesa: Thomas Tuchel’s verdict on the winger?

According to reports, Chelsea are still yet to open negotiations with Juventus over Italian winger Federico Chiesa.

Chiesa’s impressive form at the UEFA Euro 2020 has seen him linked with many clubs across Europe. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also keen on Federico Chiesa. The Italian winger currently is on a two-year loan spell with Juventus from fellow Italian club Fiorentina.

Juventus do have the option to make the loan move permanent next summer. The obligation to buy is reported to be set at €60m (£51m). The winger has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady this season and has recorded three goals and set up a further three goals for his teammates in this time.

Federico Chiesa is currently on the so sidelines until the end of the year with a thigh injury. While Juventus have had a disappointing season so far as they sit in the 5th position of the Serie A table, having picked up just 27 points from 16 league matches. Chiesa at times has looked like a shining light in what has been an underperforming Juventus side.

Thomas Tuchel’s verdict on Federico Chiesa

To add to the transfer speculation, reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel “loves” Federico Chiesa and he believes that Chiesa is “one of the best wingers in the world”.

But to Chelsea’s expense, Fabirizo Romano also stated that the Old Lady are not interested in selling the star winger next summer. Romano also confirmed that neither Juventus nor Chiesa’s agent have held any talks with Chelsea over a move next summer to the Premier League outfit.

Despite signing Romelu Lukaku for a club-record fee this summer, Chelsea are looking for another star forward to add to their ranks. Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in another star forward next summer to partner Romelu Lukaku upfront.

While Chelsea forwards Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are both set to be considering their futures at Stamford Bridge. The duo joined Chelsea last summer but have failed to cement their places in the starting line-up. Both have struggled for game time this term.

Conte brought the best out of Lukaku at Inter Milan by playing him alongside Lautaro Martínez. Thomas Tuchel will be certainly hoping for the same by signing Federico Chiesa and bringing bring the best out of Lukaku at Chelsea. Chiesa has played in a two-striker setup before at Fiorentina, so he is no stranger to the two-striker setup.

While this season too Chiesa has played as a striker alongside Álvaro Morata. The winger will certainly add a new dimension to the Chelsea forward line. His ability to drive at defenses and push the opposition back will be an asset for any club that can snatch him up. Chelsea are ready to make a bid worth £85 million to bring Chiesa to Stamford Bridge.
