Chelsea youngster will join the Saudi Pro League

According to Football London, Chelsea youngster will join the Saudi Pro League, despite the transfer window closed for the Premier League. Brazilian youngster, Angelo Gabriel, has joined Saudi Pro League giants, Al-Nassr, from Chelsea for a transfer fee of around £23 million. The Blues have confirmed a permanent transfer for the 19-year-old Brazilian winger. Angelo Gabriel will join Al Nassr on a five-year contract, just 12 months after joining Chelsea. The youngster will join former Liverpool legend, Sadio Mane, and who many consider to be the greatest ever, Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr. Moreover, Chelsea managed to put a sell-on clause on any future sale of the young player.

Angelo Gabriel joined Chelsea from Santos for a £15million transfer fee. Gabriel spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Ligue 1 club, Strasbourg. Gabriel scored zero goals and gave four assists in 21 games for the Ligue 1 club. The youngster failed to impress under Patrick Vieira in a poor season. The youngster’s spell was also halted due to injury. Gabriel is the youngest player to make a professional appearance in the history of the Brazilian top flight at just 15-years-old. The youngster was also the youngest player to score in Copa Libertadores history at just 16-years-old. Gabriel had scored 5 goals in 129 games for Santos before joining Chelsea.

More Chelsea Stories

Chelsea drew with Crystal Palace in their third game of the Premier League season. This has become a common story for the Blues. However, Chelsea did not win the match despite being the better team. During the first half of the game, the Blues played like a completely different team. Enzo Maresca’s men were in complete control of the game during the first half. Chelsea were lacking the finishing they showed against the Wolves but still, they dominated their opposition.

Chelsea were comfortable in keeping possession for the majority of the time. The Blues did not give away any big chances to Crystal Palace to take the lead. Moreover, the Blues managed to snatch an early lead after Nicolas Jackson’s goal. However, Enzo Maresca’s tactics proved fatal for the Blues one more time. Chelsea were too passive which gave chance to Eberechi Eze to find an equalizer from outside of the penalty area. Chelsea lost control of the match from that point and became a more chaotic side.

The Blues were hit hard by Gusto’s injury

Chelsea right-back, Malo Gusto, suffered an injury in their latest match against Crystal Palace. This will be a big loss for Chelsea in the upcoming games. After an injury to former Chelsea captain, Reece James, Gusto was the best option for Enzo Maresca. Chelsea have headed into the international break without both of their right-backs. Enzo Maresca played midfielder Enzo Fernandez in the defense with Wesley Fofana shifting to the right-back position against Crystal Palace. This immediately turned out to be a bad decision for the Blues. This was not the only time they suffered due to their bad tactical decisions.

Enzo Maresca decided to substitute Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku after Crystal Palace’s equalizer in search of a winning goal. However, this turned out to be a bad decision after Palace parked the bus and were playing on the counter. The problem of not having a world-class striker was also evident in the match. Poor finishing from Chelsea forwards is still a problem to be addressed by Enzo Maresca. Fans can see Jadon Sancho in a Chelsea shirt in their next fixture. Chelsea will face Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium after the international break is over.
